Which nicotine strength should i choose?

If you are an ex-smoker transitioning to vaping from cigarettes, you will be looking at buying a MTL device most likely a pod system. We highly recommend you start vaping with a high nicotine strength e-liquid (20mg +). This will give you the nicotine satisfaction your body is used to coming from cigarettes. If you are a heavy smoker (pack a day) start at 40mg, for everyone else 20mg is a good place to start.

If you have been off cigarettes for a while and lowered your nicotine dependency then you can vape at a lower strength (0mg - 18mg). If you are using a DTL device we don't recommend you go over 6mg of Nicotine as it can be very harsh on the throat in these high powered systems.


MTL Nicotine Strengths

Mouth to Lung users can vape higher nicotine strengths which is why this is the recommended vaping style for smokers transitioning to vaping.

TOO LOW = SMOKING TO COMPENSATE
If your body has become accustomed to having a certain level of nicotine i.e smokers transitioning to vaping, choosing an e-liquid with less nicotine than you are used to from cigarettes will typically result in compensation smoking. This means that you will wind up smoking (or vaping) more to make up for the nicotine your body needs and craves.

TOO HIGH = TOO INTENSE
On the other hand, if you currently smoke a light tobacco based cigarette and you choose an e-liquid that contains a high strength of nicotine, you may overload your body with more nicotine than it is used to while you were smoking tobacco-based cigarettes. The throat hit may be too much or you may experience some light-headedness. This can result in not liking the e-cigarette, when, in fact, you just have the wrong nicotine strength.

JUST RIGHT = SATISFACTION
Finding the sweet spot makes you satisfied. When deciding on a Nicotine strength its most common to stick to the rule: Start in the middle and work your way up or down. Most smokers transitioning to vaping 12mg is that sweet spot and a good place, to begin with. If you are a heavy smoker then 18mg is a good place to start and you can work your way down from there.


DTL Nicotine Strengths

Direct to Lung users would vape lower nicotine strengths. 3mg (Low) would be the most popular and the max would be 6mg of nicotine. High nicotine strengths in a direct to lung device can be harsh on the throat and unpleasant, which is why these devices are not recommended for smokers transitioning to vaping.
